Romans 5:19

For just as through the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man many will be made righteous.

Prophecies regarding the Second Adam:

1. Genesis 3:15

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers;He will crush your head and you will strike His heel.

Fulfillment

Galatians 4:4

But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.

Colossians 2:15

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

2. Genesis 49:10

The sceptre will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until He comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is His.

Fulfillment

Luke 3:23-33

Now Jesus Himself was about thirty years old when He began His ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph….The son of Judah, the son of Jacob.

3. Isaiah 9:6-7

For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Fulfillment

Matthew 1:1-16

A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham…. And Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

4. Micah 5:2

But you Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel,whose origins are from old, from ancient times.

Fulfillment

Matthew 2:1-2

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, Where is the who has been born King of the Jews? We have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him.

5. Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. The virgin will be with Child and will give birth to a Son and will call him Emmanuel.

Fulfillment

Matthew 1:18

This is how the birth of Jesus came about. His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together she was found to be with Child through the Holy Spirit.

6. Jeremiah 31:15

This is what the Lord says, A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because her children are no more.

Fulfillment

Matthew 2:16--18

When Herod realised that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Jerusalem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled: A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.

7. Hosea 11:1

When Israel was a child I loved Him, and out of Egypt I called My Son.

Fulfillment

Matthew 2:14-15

So he got up and took the Child and His mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: Out of Egypt I called My Son.
